General Comments:

This is a readable guide which offers much more detail than the average guide.  All the maps are in colour (from GEO Projects).  Some seem to be more up-to-date than my GU map though others are not.

It's aimed at both walkers and boaters, with plenty of guidance is given on where to moor for shops (including take-aways), though I haven't noticed any mention of laundrettes.  For those using public transport, bus route "nearest points" are mentioned.

There are plenty of photographs including a good selection of "before and after"s and one drawing.

The chapters on the Canal's history, including Sandiacre Lock Cottages (the ECP&DA's HQ), Shipley Wharf, aqueducts and Derelict Connections are good.

It's not just that you'll be supporting the local canal society by buying a copy.  It is, in any case, a good local guide, written by boaters who've restored the canal and boat on it!
