Lock Keepers N97#6p13: The locks on the Aire Navigation below Castleford are now manned by mobile BW lock-keepers who attend only when a commercial vessel is due. (See Navigational Note 1)

Knostrop Fall Lock N97#5p10 N2k#5p10 N03#5p10: The towpath to east of the lock runs on the south side of the Navigation for about 1000yds to the bridge east of the Thwaite Mills Industrial Museum. The bridge shown in the 2003 edition at the tail of Knostrop Fall Lock does not exist. There is a bridge, not shown in the 1997 edition, between Knostrop Fall Lock and the Museum.
Rodhill Corner N97#5p11: There's now a Motorway Link Bridge between Rodhill Corner and Concrete Bridge.
Woodlesford Lock N97#5p11 N2k#5p11: On the south bank above Woodlesford Lock there's a Refuse Disposal Point and a Water Point below the lock.
Caroline Bridge N97#5p14 N2k#5p14 N03#5p14: A waymarked path exists along the north bank of the navigation between the bridge and Castleford Junction, with deviations, signposted in both cases, either side of the lake to west of the Astley Loading Staithe site (which no longer exists) and, in Allerton Bywater, round some buildings.
Allerton Bywater N97#5p16 N2k#5p16: The Boat now has a microbrewery on the premises and sells its own beer in addition to several other real ales. (The 2000 edition says these are Bass and Worthington. See its web site at http://www.boatpub.co.uk for details and for food menu and times.

Castleford Junction N97#5p15#6p10 N2k#5p15#6p10 N03#5p15#6p10: The facilities at Castleford Junction include BW 48hr moorings, pump-out and showers. There are also BW 48 hour Visitor Moorings east of Barnsdale Road Bridge.

Racca Green N97#6p15#6p99 N2k#6p15#6p99 N03#6p17#6p101: The Steam Packet Inn (There is a symbol but no description at #6p99 - #6p101 in the 2003 edition) no longer brews its own beer.

Whitley Lock N97#6p15#6p99 N2k#6p15#6p99: Whitley Lock: Moorings are available at the bottom of Whitley Lock, along with BBQ facilities. Those above the lock are long term only.
Heck Bridge N97#6p16 N2k#6p16: The towpath on the southern bank is not continuous, being broken by the entrance to the basin of the South Yorks Boat Club, east of Heck Bridge.
No 3 Swing Bridge N97#6p16 N2k#6p16 N03#6p18: There is a Water Point here. The bridge is disused and left open to the canal.

Fairies Hill N97#5p14 N2k#5p14: The footnote at the bottom of the page regarding towpath can be deleted. The towpath between Fairies Hill and Kings Road Lock is now excellent and the dotted red line on the map can now be shown as continual red.
Woodnook Lock N97#5p14 N2k#5p14 N03#5p14: The correct name is Woodnook Lock not Woodnock Lock. There is a Water Point above the lock.
Stanley Ferry N97#5p19 N2k#5p19: The correct telephone number of Stanley Ferry Marina is 01924 201800. (The marina has been deleted from the 2000 edition but is still to be found on the offside, immediately south of Stanley Ferry Aqueduct.)
There is ample room to wind at each end of Stanley Ferry Aqueduct.
Ramsdens Swing Bridge N97#5p19 N2k#5p19: Ramsdens Swing Bridge is kept open to the canal and has a footbridge over the canal. The facilities by Ramsdens Swing Bridge include pump-out and showers.
Broadreach Lock N97#5p19 N2k#5p19: This Lock is a Flood Lock (normally both gates left open).

Lift Bridges N97#6p115: At the end of the main text it states that bridges lift effortlessly as the boater approaches. This is now out of date as the bridges are all user operated with a key.

Kirk Lane Bridge N97#6p23 N2k#6p23 N03#6p25: The bridge is a lift bridge.
Sykehouse Lock N97#6p23 N2k#6p23: There is no water point at the lock. The direction of lock is wrong. It is a Swing bridge over the lock not a lift bridge.
Westfield Bridge N97#6p23: The bridge doesn't exist.
Kirkhouse Green Bridge N97#6p114 N2k#6p114: The bridge is a lift not swing bridge.
Top Lane Bridge N97#6p114 N2k#6p114: The bridge is a lift not swing bridge.

Don Aqueduct N97#6p114 N2k#6p114: In the main text there is reference to the Don Aqueduct, which states that there is no more than a girder protecting passing boats at one side. This girder now has a raised handrail fixed to it throughout its length on that side.

Beal Lock N97#6p98 N2k#6p98: The only moorings at Beal are those required to operate the lock and these are only about 80 ft long.

West Haddlesley Flood Lock N97#6p99#6p100: There are 48hr BW visitor Moorings between the lock and Tankard's Stone bridge.
Gateforth Landing N97#6p100 N2k#6p100: There are 48hr BW Visitor Moorings here.
Burn Bridge N97#6p101 N2k#6p101: The Anchor Burn is under new management. It has 75 yards of good new moorings, free for patrons. Delete reference to collection of animals. There's a new canalside grassed area and space for touring caravans and tents. Toilet block and showers planned for 2001. Food lunchtimes and evenings except Sunday evening.
