The pub, 500yds downstream from Coxheath Road Bridge, has changed hands and now has an excellent full restaurant, overlooking the canal, with very good food including Sunday roasts. The Folk Club no longer meets there.

A new wharf was added in 2000 and this is now the venue of an annual week-end Steam Boat Rally, which also attracts a number of narrowboats and cruisers. It takes place in mid-September.  Details are available from the Canal Centre, Mytchett (Tel: 01252 370073) or the Basingstoke Canal Boating Club (http://www.boatingclub.org.uk)
