The bridge now only opens between 7:00am and 10:00am, and between 3:00pm and 5:00pm. Combined with the Trent Tides this makes planning a little tricky. Be prepared for an enforced overnight stay trapped between the lock and the bridge!

Above the lock there are secure BW moorings next to their office with Water and Refuse Disposal Points and electricity.  There is a laundrette at Beckett Road, five minutes walk to the west.  Tesco is two minutes walk to the east.  The main shopping centre is five minutes walk to the east.

Just below the lock is Strawberry Island Boat Club. Like most AWCC clubs, they welcome visitors. It's useful because there's a Homebase right by it.
